Stuart offers nearly twenty years of accumulated knowledge when you book a bike fit at Flitch Bikes Ltd. He has been bike fitting for over ten years using a system now replicated by other more expensive computer generated options.

Stuarts approach is based on a grounding in personal training taking each body on its individual merit, taking time with the client to gain a knowledge of their bodies history, injuries and characteristics. This is then applied, alongside experience in racing from MTB to TT to Road to longer cycling adventures and all the little differences these offer up, to work with the cyclist to achieve a comfortable effective position on the bike for their chosen goals and ambitions.

Advice is also given to the client on what can be done off the bike to help with comfort and efficiency on the bike.

Fitting needs to be booked for approximately 1 1/2 hour slots in the week at a cost of only £75.00, contact Stuart to arrange an appointment at your home.

Flitch Bikes is a result of Stuarts passion for competition combined with his lifes experience spanning just over twenty years.

Stuarts working life started as a work jockey riding Point to Point horses. Here his first experience of the importance of putting down a good foundation of steadily built up endurance before adding in speed and threshold work with racehorses supported his own personal sporting endeavours at the time competing regularly at the National Tetrathlon Championships from the age of 16 to 21 and making it onto the British Modern Pentathlon squad.

Working at the Flitch Fitness centre for approximately sixteen years Stuart became aware these same principles can be applied to sportspeople as well as racehorses. The personal training and coaching with a wide variety of clients gave invaluable experience. This was also a constant testing ground for different ideas and training principles, with some programmes lasting six to eight months to complete, before applying them with various clients such as Rugby players, World Championship level Water Skiers and weight loss clients; one such who went from 21stone to cycling Lands End to John O Groats within two years.

During this period Stuart developed from Tetrathlon to a successful Triathlete gaining local sponsorship regularly achieving top ten results though out southern England. This led to the opening of Flitch Run and Bike tri’ shop which soon developed into Flitch Bikes taking over the gym business during the boom of cycling before the Internet changed how the consumer shops.

Stuart now races successfully Mountain Biking and Time Trialling achieving top five results in the Anglia region while working Flitch Bikes as a cycle workshop and the development of ‘System of a Cyclist’.
